Jon Hartley is the multi-faceted tool of the company and the “idea man” behind our growth engine. A Ball State alumn, Jon is a former radio/TV, basketball and public address announcer, and disc jockey. His diverse background of handling clients and interviewing sports personalities prepared him well for dealing with clients from all walks of life. For this reason, Jon doesn’t know a stranger!
Jon is always willing to go the extra mile and can be found helping the service crews, answering the phone, negotiating supply costs or presenting to a group of realtors. He is extremely passionate about our Puradigm product line and is our resident air purification and surface decontamination expert.
Jon’s dedication to excellence extends beyond his work at Pure Air Environmental. Because of this, he regularly attends industry conferences and workshops. Doing so, he stays updated on the latest advancements in radon testing, mold remediation, and water restoration. His commitment to continuous learning keeps the company at the forefront of the industry. This provides clients with the best solutions and services available.
In his free time, Jon enjoys giving back to the community. He volunteers and participates in local events. Furthermore, his approachable nature and genuine care for people make him a trusted advisor and friend. Jon is also a devout Indianapolis Colts fan. You can often find him at Lucas Oil Stadium with friends, cheering on the Colts!

Karen Hartley is not only the co-owner of Pure Air ER, but she is also a licensed radon tester, bringing expertise and professionalism to every interaction. Furthermore, her dedication to customer service ensures that every client feels valued and informed.
Karen’s journey with Pure Air Environmental began with hands-on experience. Initially, it was not uncommon to find her in crawl spaces or attics, using tools and performing mitigation services. This hands-on approach provided her with a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our services. As the company has grown, Karen has transitioned from the field to the office full-time. Despite the shift, her commitment to excellence remains unchanged.
In the office, Karen is supported by her faithful companions, Lulu and Coco. These four-legged office assistants bring a touch of warmth and joy to the workplace. Additionally, Lulu and Coco are not just pets; they are also licensed radon sniffers, adding another layer of expertise to our team. Their presence reminds us that a friendly and welcoming environment is key to our success.
Karen’s role is multifaceted. She manages scheduling, coordinates team activities, and ensures that operations run smoothly. Her ability to juggle multiple tasks with a smile makes her an invaluable asset to Pure Air Environmental. Moreover, Karen’s dedication extends beyond the office as she continually seeks ways to improve our services (now including water restoration) and enhance customer satisfaction.
In addition to her work, Karen’s experience includes a unique journey to a naval base in Africa. There, she deployed radon tests for Uncle Sam, demonstrating her expertise and dedication to safety on a global scale. This experience highlights her commitment to ensuring safe and healthy environments, no matter the location.

Without question, Misty is the straw that stirs our drink. She keeps us all focused on our tasks and assignments while handling all customer inquiries and transactions with seamless perfection. Multi-tasking, numbers, reliability, positivity and juggling without dropping the ball are her extraordinary strengths. On any given day, this total team player may be answering the phone, deploying a radon test, grabbing an air sample, installing an air purifier or spraying a crawl space with the crew. She brings a wealth of multi-family industry management experience to our team, as well as, owning her own investment portfolio of rental properties. In her spacetime, you can find her doing craft projects, boating out of the lake or wandering along Indiana Beach.
